Building Profilactic

Profilactic is a social media aggregator/lifestreaming service that pulls together just about everything you and your friends create online. This blog chronicles the processing of building it.

Profilactic adds support for Halo 3 and Bungie.net
Just wanted to let everyone know that we have added support for Bungie.net and all of their Halo 3-related features. You will be able to link to your profile, your file share, you service record, etc. In addition, you will be able to import all of your match stats from Halo 3 and Halo 2 into your mashup.

Bungie.net brings the total number of sites we support to 71. Of course, we still support unlimited custom sites.
Profilactic adds support for Koinup
Just wanted to let everyone know that we have added support for Koinup. It is a social network for sharing all of the content you create in virtual worlds like Second Life, The Sims and World of Warcraft.

Koinup, unfortunately, doesn't support RSS. This means that you'll get all of the various links from your Koinup profile in your Where to Find Me Online list and badge, but none of your content will show up in your Mashup.

You can read more about Koinup here.

Koinup brings the number of sites we support to 70. We still support unlimited custom sites.

Profilactic adds support for Dopplr and Diigo
Just wanted to let everyone know that we have added basic support for social annotation site Diigo and social travel site Dopplr.

Neither site supports RSS very well, so you will be able to add their links into your Where to Find Me Online list; however, none of your content from these sites will get pulled into your Profilactic Mashup.

This brings the number of sites we support by default to 69. Of course, we still support unlimited custom sites.

Profilactic adds support Furl and StumbleUpon
Just wanted to let everyone know that we've added support for Furl and StumbleUpon. Unfortunately, SU doesn't offer RSS feeds (which is lame), so you'll only be able to link to your SU stuff in your Where to Find Me Online list (and badge). Thanks to Stewart Harris for suggesting those two.

Furl and StumbleUpon bring the number of sites we support by default to 67. We still support adding unlimited custom sites.

Mashup issues resolved
We have resolved the issues were having with the mashups. Turns out it had nothing to do with the code I was messing with. Your mashups should be working again. If you still see issues, please contact us at feedback at profilactic dot com.
Having mashup issues
We are experiencing some mashup issues this morning. Apparently someone (me) was monkeying around with code that they (I) shouldn't have been monkeying around with. Should have this resolved soon.

Profilactic adds support for Propeller
Just wanted to let everyone know that we added support for Propeller, the Digg-clone formerly known as Netscape.com.

This is the 65th site that we support by default. As always, you can still add unlimited custom sites.
Profilactic adds support for mEgo
Just wanted to let everyone know that we have added basic support for mEgo to Profilactic.

mEgo was one of the companies presenting at TechCrunch 40 this week. They create personalized widgets that are supposed to visually present you *and* aggregate all of your social content.

Not really sure what to make of it; however, we added it anyway.

That brings the number of default sites to 64. You can still add unlimited custom sites.

Profilactic adds support for Reddit
Just wanted to let everyone know that we added support for Reddit. Now, you can pull in all of the items you've submitted and commented on.

Things you submit will get their own "Reddit" section in your mashup. Things you comment on will be listed within the existing "Comments" section in your mashup.

Reddit becomes the 63rd site that we support by default. We, of course, still support unlimited custom sites.

Slowly preparing for the next release
Just wanted to let everyone know that we're still here at the Profilactic lair working on the next release. We've taken it kind of easy over the past couple of weeks getting some things sorted out (there are 3 of us now, instead of 4) and planning our next set of features.

We are going to be focusing on making it easier to connect with your friends and to manage which of your friends' feeds that you want to see (and which ones you want to hide).

I'll post more updates here and on Twitter as we get closer to a release date.
